Former stud high school linebacker and University of Southern California commit Brian Banks lost the prospects of a lengthy and lucrative professional football career when a classmate falsely accused him of rape 13 years ago. The Los Angeles native spent more than five years wrongfully incarcerated before his conviction was overturned in 2012, after he secretly recorded his accuser’s admission that she fabricated her sexual assault narrative.
Despite a brief stint with the Atlanta Falcons and a job in the NFL’s Department of Operations, Banks’ football life has mostly transitioned into one of public speaking and advocacy for the innocent. Now, Banks will star in a reality show that promises to take an in-depth look at his wrongful conviction. Read more about the upcoming series here.
