Interview with Michael Evans (Part 1): “They Had One Hell of an Imagination”

Michael Evans was wrongfully convicted of the rape and murder of 9-year old Lisa Cabassa in 1977 and spent 26 years in prison.  He was arrested when he was 17, sentenced to 200-400 years when he was 18, and released when he was 44.  The following interview is the first in a series of interviews with Michael, covering his life just before arrest, his detention and police misconduct leading to a fabricated signed confession, two trials in which he was misidentified by an eyewitness who was compensated by the prosecution, and his sentencing on 5 counts which would have kept him in prison for the rest of his natural life.
